If there is one big hype about the Internet it's all that talk of direct on-line multi-media access - listen to your favourite bands, watch the latest movies - straight to your PC. Now you and I know that this is really a long way off for most of us. Not only are our telephone lines and modems not capable of handling the data at a suitable speed but there is simply not enough bandwidth on the entire network to cope with all this sort of traffic.
It probably will happen one day, but for now the best we can hope for is a 30 second clip of sound or video of rather dubious quality that we can pretend shows off our impressive equipment. Even so, these little clips aren't small and can take an age to download. Up till now I've not had the capacity to even store such files, but now, at last, I can.
Rather than offering you a stack of videos all at once and generating a minor bandwidth overload, I'll just post one every month or so, which should keep us all happy! The quality will, I'm afraid, be variable but they will all be of interest, honest!
For my third video presentation, I'm staying with pop music. The last sample was from the definitive, though now defunct, Boyband, Take That, this time I have one of the latest "pop sensations", Kavana. Another very cute young man, and he can actually sing! This 30 second clip is from his single "Where Are You", and at a mere 1.2Mb should take much less time downloading that the Take That sample. Enjoy!!
